CRYSTAL VEINS, PAUL MITCHELL, SIMON MASON
Poetry festival, Spoken Word, Song, Poetry
$15 / $10 concession
As part of Sonic Poetry Festival, RADIO UNFRIENDLY will see poet Paul Mitchell and multi-instrumentalist and producer Simon Mason perform My Coffin Lid, My Shield, their album of spoken word, song, and poetry. It’s a haunting, cerebral, and zany work that stands up for innocence in the face of the world’s cruelties. Legendary spoken word performer and poet Sean Whelan has teamed up with acclaimed guitarist Justin Bernasconi and the pair will perform tracks under the name of Crystal Veins. Combining melancholic magical realism poetry with improvised guitar.
Mamma Chen’s acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and the Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation, the true owners of the land that we live and operate on. We would like to pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
