The Barngarla people are opposed to a nuclear waste dump at Kimba and have been fighting for a long time. This year SA Premier Peter Malinauskas said he supported Traditional Owners Right to Veto over the waste dump issue and now we need to get our voices to Canberra so that Resource Minister Madeleine King and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese can drop the Kimba site.

Background:
The Government’s process of declaring Kimba as the dump site was flawed from the beginning. Despite being Native Title Holders, we never received the right to vote in the official ballot used to assess broad community support. The Government then tried to remove free and fair judicial review, by amending the National Radioactive Waste Management Act 2012. We were able to fight and protect our right to judicial review, and we now must fight again.
