Hey all you beautiful humans! Get ready to vibe with us at the legendary Mamma Chen’s for an evening that’s gonna be more lit than a soy candle in a vintage mason jar. We’ve curated a lineup that’s as eclectic as your vinyl collection, featuring Drip Glaze, The Great Emu War Casualties, Ze Wisenheimer, and Morpheme.
And here’s the sweetest deal, folks – it’s FREE! That’s right, more money for your organic, fair-trade coffee fund.
7:30-8pm – First up, we’re graced with the entrancing sounds of Morpheme. This is the solo project of the talented Mayzie Wallen. She blends industrial drum samples with My Bloody Valentine inspired layered fuzz and crystalline vocals. It’s a little bit grunge, a little bit ethereal, and a whole lot of awesome.
8:15-8:50pm – Next, we ride the wave with Drip Glaze serving us some freshly brewed jazzy pop that’s as exciting as finding a first edition Kerouac in a used book store.
9:15-10pm – Then, we’re grooving with The Great Emu War Casualties. They’re not just a band, they’re a movement, having etched their unique lucid indie/art-rock/alt-pop sound into the heart of the Australian indie scene. Their lyrics are sharper than the wit at a Wes Anderson film festival.
10:15-11pm – We’re rounding off the night with Ze Wisenheimer. Birthed from Zac’s bedroom psych krautrock project and transformed into a post punk sensation with the addition of Michelle and Nate, Ze Wisenheimer is a testament to evolution. They’re serving up conflicted noise with infectious beats, paranoiac repetition with hooks and melody, and stream-of-conscious rants with tongue-in-cheek puns. It’s like mixing a vintage typewriter with a Moog synthesizer – unexpected but oh so delicious.
So grab your non-leather boots and recycled tote bags, and come join us for an evening of boundary-pushing music. It’s all happening at Mamma Chen’s, where the doors open at 7pm. RSVP as ‘Going’ and invite all your cool cats.
Any questions or vegan snack recommendations? Drop us a message. Can’t wait to see all your beautiful faces there!
