Assorted Sporks Workshop #4 - Performing Poetry to Music
$60 + BF conc. // $80 + BF GA
This workshop will be run by George O’Hara/ FluxofHumour and will be about putting a poem to music. It will cover areas such as finding a rhythm and adjusting the reading of the poem (like pausing for effect). Bring your own poetry but also be prepared to write, there will be some backing tracks of different styles that you can perform to and we will have a jazz duet for some freestyle music while people are reading at the end of the workshop.
George O’Hara has been creating music since the early 2000s and performed in and helped produce a number of poetry and music gigs. They have also recorded other poets and created backing tracks for a number of artists, produced several poetry/electronica and ukulele cds and creates the backing tracks for the Assorted Sporks gig at Mamma Chen’s.

Mamma Chen’s acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and the Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation, the true owners of the land that we live and operate on. We would like to pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
